Ann Bauer: A Pillar of Family Law Recognized at the 2024 ICON Awards

It is with great excitement that we announce attorney Ann Bauer as one of the esteemed recipients of the 2024 ICON Awards, recognizing her as a pillar of family law in the Missouri legal community.


The ICON Awards, hosted by Missouri Lawyers Media each year, recognize and celebrate 25 legal professionals in Missouri who are at least 60 years old and have substantially shaped the practice of law over their exceptional careers. The recipients are chosen based on their leadership and expertise in their respective fields, as well as the pivotal decisions they have made that have influenced the trajectory of their firms or organizations.

 

The prestigious honorees include individuals from a spectrum of legal disciplines, including, state and federal judges whose judgments have established legal precedent, founding partners whose vision and guidance have guided their firms to new heights, and seasoned practitioners who have navigated the complexities of law with unwavering commitment and expertise. Although their backgrounds vary, encompassing large and small firms, public service, corporate counsel, and members of the bench, their collective impact on the legal community is self-evident. The 2024 ICON Awards ceremony acknowledges each distinguished recipient for their legal excellence and mentorship in the community.

 

Throughout Ann's career in family law, she has gained success through her profound empathy for her clients and a comprehensive understanding of the legal challenges they encounter. She has consistently navigated the complexities of family law with grace and tenacity, earning her a reputation as a staunch advocate for justice.

 

Ann specializes in handling complex divorce cases, child custody disputes, and a myriad of other domestic law matters, where she has established herself as a cornerstone of the family law practice in St. Louis, helping families for 30 years as they navigate the tumultuous waters of family law. It is Ann’s commitment to providing compassionate and assured legal guidance that has resulted in favorable resolutions that prioritize the unique needs of each individual involved.

 

True to her passion as a collaborative lawyer, Ann has become well-known for her effectiveness at mediating conflicts outside of the courtroom. The Center for Family Law Honored by Legal Services of Eastern Missouri

We are proud to share that the Center for Family Law ha s received the Gerald R. Ortbals Law Practice Award at the 2026 For the Common Good Awards, presented by Legal Services of Eastern Missouri (LSEM). The ceremony was held in August at the Ritz-Carlton, bringing together the region's legal community to celebrate outstanding contributions to access to justice. A Firm-Wide Commitment to Pro Bono Service The Ortbals Award recognizes The Center for Family Law's longstanding dedication to pro bono service. The firm's attorneys have consistently been among LSEM's most active, reliable, and supportive partners for family law referrals. Family law cases are rarely simple. They often sit at the intersection of a client's safety, stability, and the wellbeing of their family. The attorneys who take on this work do so knowing the stakes are personal and the outcomes matter deeply to the people they represent. While LSEM has previously honored individual attorneys from the firm for their pro bono contributions, this year's award is different: it celebrates The Center for Family Law as a whole. It reflects a culture, built over more than two decades, where taking on complex, often difficult family law matters for clients who could not otherwise afford representation isn't the exception, it's the norm. That kind of consistency does not happen by accident. It is the result of firm leadership prioritizing pro bono work, attorneys stepping up case after case, and a shared belief that access to skilled legal counsel in family law matters shouldn't depend on a client's ability to pay. The 28th annual Women’s Justice Awards on April 16, 2026 celebrated women across Missouri who exemplify leadership, integrity, service, and excellence in advancing the quality of justice. Honorees are selected from diverse sectors of the legal community, including private practice, the judiciary, public service, academia, and nonprofit leadership. The Mentor Award is presented to experienced legal professionals who have played a meaningful role in shaping the careers of emerging attorneys.
