Mediation allows couples to solve problems in a creative, constructive manner. It provides a calm atmosphere for settling legal matters and allows the parties to maintain a greater degree of privacy and control over the outcome.
Mediation can be less expensive and less time consuming than litigation. The mediator assists parties in identifying common interests and the range of solutions available. The mediator is a neutral third party who is not an advocate for either side and does not provide legal advice to either party. Therefore, it is important for each party to have legal counsel to advise them throughout the mediation process. Some of our attorneys are trained mediators, and all our attorneys may represent clients in the mediation process.
